What does a "creative lesson plan" look like?

Teachers who have followed the lesson plans in their textbooks might ask, "What does a creative lesson plan look like?"

I had a "disruptive student" named Mike in my second year of teaching.  He wanted to rap.  So I gave him a task:  Write a rap song about the difference between the circle formulas, one for the circumference and the other for the area of a circle.  This was in 2002, so I don't have a youtube video of his performance.  Here's what I found on a search (rap song about the circumference formula or area of a circle):

That's great!  Whatever it takes to get the idea into the heads of students.  These are all lessons that created a product (a video) and there's a lesson plan that could be written to describe what happened in the classroom to get the students to produce something.
